Two Clanton men are scheduled to go on trial for murder next week in the 2006 shooting death of Issac Dedarge Bulger of Clanton.

Kowosky Tywan Christian, 31, and Christopher Iman Ulmer, 33, both are charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the Dec. 19, 2006, shooting of 20-year-old Bulger, who died in the hospital the following day.

The suspects were arrested the same day of the victim’s death by Chilton County Sheriff’s Deputies and Clanton Police.

According to officials, both men were in the truck from which a person allegedly shot into a white Chevrolet Malibu and hit the victim. The shooting occurred in the West End community.

An autopsy later revealed that Bulger died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The trial is set to begin Monday with the striking of jury in the courtroom of Circuit Judge Ben Fuller. Both Christian and Ulmer will be tried unless they enter into a plea agreement.

Chilton County Circuit Court Clerk Glenn McGriff estimated that the trial would last approximately one week.
