Pastor Jeff Carroll’s took the text for his sermon “I Believe” from John 9:35-41.

Even the devil believes in Jesus, but to believe as a true Christian you have to have a one-on-one personal relationship with Christ. We have to believe he came to this world to live as a man among men, died on a cross for the sins of the world, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to heaven and now sits at the Father’s right hand in heaven. He sent to us the Holy Ghost to serve as our comforter, and even now, Jesus even now stands in the gap for us, making intersession with the Father on our behalf. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, our names can be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Jesus heard the Pharisees had cast out of the synagogue the once-blind man to whom he had given sight, and they were still harassing the man about who Jesus was. Jesus asked, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” The man answered and said, “Who is he Lord that I may believe in him?” Jesus said unto him, “You have both seen him, and it is he who is talking with you.” The man then said, “Lord, I believe” and worshiped him.

We do not have to know the Bible cover to cover or be a Bible scholar to know and believe in Jesus; we just have to tell others what Jesus has done for us and how he has changed and blessed our lives.

Jesus never forsakes us or leaves us. No matter what situations we get ourselves into, he will find us and deliver us; we just have to trust and obey.

God will make himself known to us if we earnestly seek him. God gives us the liberty and free will to serve him. In John 14:5-6, when Jesus was about to ascend unto the Father, Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, asked, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus replied, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The devil, the god of this age, has blinded those who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of Christ should shine on them.

In closing, if you can’t say you are a Christian, let today be the day you step out boldly to answer God’s call.

Announcements: Bro. Jeff Carroll will teach the adult class on Wednesday night and Bro. Clay Collins teaches the youth in the basement. We are happy to report that five of our youth rededicated their lives to Jesus. God is good all the time!

Prayer concerns: Our pastors and church family, our nation, those in hospitals and nursing homes, spoken and unspoken requests.

Bro. Mike Lawrence’s message from Isaiah 1:18-20 was titled “God’s Message for Today.”

It doesn’t matter who you are, what kind of life you are living or what kind of sin you have in your life; if you turn your life over to Christ, he will take that sin away from you. Through your sin be like crimson, he will make you white as snow.

Jesus doesn’t force anything on us, he gives each and every one of us the choice to follow him or not to follow him.

Satan has turned this world upside down, but God wants to realize that we are sinners. It’s hard to find something that is lost if you don’t know it’s lost. The world needs to hear this because like sheep, we have gone astray. We are going our own way instead of God’s way. Our way leads to sin and hell.

God hates sin, but loves us. If you had a child with a deadly disease, you would hate the disease but still love the child. God loves us so much that he sent his Son to die for us.

God has no desire for anyone to perish. If the supporters of gay rights and abortion will turn from their wicked ways, God will save them. We should all pray that they will turn to God and repent.

Satan will make you think you have plenty of time to make a decision. The rich man thought this, and his soul was taken that night.

Everyone is welcome to worship with us at Floyd.
