New president elected for Chilton County Humane Society

In other news, the commission:

•Voted to allow Williams’ Transco pipeline to advertise to close County Road 353 to County Road 62.

•Voted to approve a resolution from Chilton County Industrial Development Coordinator Fred Crawford to nominate two new members to the Industrial Development Board.

Crawford, who was not present at Monday’s meeting, nominated Van Forrester and Wesley Hicks.

It was unclear if Forrester and Hicks were replacing members on the IDB.

Agee said the minority representative that served on the board passed away, and he would like to see a minority replace the individual who died.

The commission voted to accept the nominations, and will vote on board members at an upcoming commission meeting.

•Scheduled a work session at the request of Welch to invite members of the Industrial Development Board to discuss economic development for the county.

Commissioners voted to meet Oct. 6 at 5:45 p.m.

•Voted to authorize Caton to cancel insurance on three county-owned buildings that the airport authority will take down.

Commissioners voted in January to allow the Airport Authority to have the three buildings town down which include the exhibition hall, a restroom facility and concrete “pig barn.”

•Voted to allow Caton to execute the lowest bidder for an air conditioning unit, based on a 7.5 ton or greater unit for the Chilton County Extension Office.
