Commission agrees to pay balance for sheriff’s radios

•Voted to approve Frank Atkinson for a part-time position as park manager at Higgins Ferry Park until the county hires a new parks and recreation director.

Atkinson will retire from his full-time position as park manager May 1 but will work part-time after May 1 until the new parks and recreation director is hired.

Commissioners voted to allow Atkinson to work part-time at his present full-time pay rate.

•Voted to re-solicit bids for jail security control system upgrades to include specifications from the Code of Alabama.

•Voted to allow Glenn Littleton to fill in for Thorsby’s Mayor Jean Nelson on the Chilton County 911 board.

The setup of members who serve on the Chilton County E-911 board include seven members from all four municipalities, the sheriff, the president of the firefighters association and the chairman of the commission.
