Virginia Springer prepares a stocking to be stuffed for Stockings for Soldiers, an annual event that ships stockings prepared by people in Chilton County to be shipped to Iraq or Afghanistan. The event is organized by the First United Methodist Church of Clanton. Event organizer, Stephanie Gibson said the stockings will be shipped Nov. 28 to allow enough time to arrive for the Christmas holiday.
