MONTGOMERY (AP) – Alabama State University trustees have approved a $300.00 increase in tuition, beginning in the fall.

The school’s board of trustees agreed Monday to approve the 12.4 percent hike. Out-of-state students would pay an additional $600.00.

Tuition costs at most of Alabama’s public universities will rise in the fall.

College administrators have said the increases were necessary to offset cuts in state appropriations.
