Cecil Washington Mims, 73, of Verbena died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
He was born Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1937, in Chilton County, son of the late Theodore W. Mims and the late Ella Mae Minor Mims.
He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Velma C. Easterling of Verbena; four sons, Alvin Mims of Boaz, Lawrence Mims of Jemison, Edwin Easterling of Clanton and Jerry Easterling of Verbena; three daughters, Mrs. Cecilia Lovette of Montevallo, Mrs. Lisa Jackson of Jemison and Mrs. Anna Adams of Clanton; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Osbon Mims of Clanton; and sister, Ms. Betty Joyce Mims of Clanton.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Hand.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 7 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Colburn officiating.
Interment will follow in Edwards Family Cemetery in Clanton.
