The Central Alabama baseball all-star team, which includes players from Chilton County High and Jemison, was defeated 9-0 by the Birmingham Metro all-stars on Friday in the Alabama Lions Club annual East-West tournament.

Central Alabama could only muster five hits, but two of those came off the bats of CCHS players Tanner Powell and Justin Veazey.

CCHS’s T.J. Henley struck out four Metro batters in three innings of work from the mound.

Central Alabama will play the South Alabama squad in a consolation game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Samford University.
