Family and friends show support for Isabella senior

Dear editor,

Friends and loved ones are bringing awareness to Karli Chadwick, a 17-year-old senior at Isabella High School.

Karli has faced many health issues in her life due to having a blood clotting disorder, immune system disorder and end stage renal disease. She has gone through two kidney transplants and recently suffered a major stroke on the left side of her brain in the parietal and occipital lobes.

The stroke caused many deficits that she now has to overcome. Karli will be going to Children’s of Birmingham several days a week throughout the next year for therapy and doctors appointments. Along with losing the ability to read, write and perform daily activities she has also lost right-sided peripheral vision.

When Karli has regained some of the losses caused by the stroke, her doctors at Children’s want her to go to the University of Iowa to be seen by specialists in the field of immune system disorders. She would spend approximately a week going through evaluations and genetic tests to hopefully get a diagnosis.

If you can, please pray for healing, restoration and patience for Karli as she faces the challenges of the stroke.

Please add Karli to your church’s prayer list.

With gratitude and love,

Family and friends of Karli Chadwick
