Several years ago, the Rotary Club became the sponsor of The Clanton Advertiser’s Newspaper in Education Program.

The NIE program provides copies of The Clanton Advertiser to several hundred eighth-grade students throughout Chilton County. The program encourages students to keep informed about current events and get them reading newspapers on a regular basis.

The Rotary Club enlists help from local businesses to sponsor the program every year. Each week, The Advertiser publishes a page in its Friday edition that is filled with information to young readers as well as a feature about an outstanding eighth-grader from the county.

The page also recongizes businesses and individuals who join with the Rotary Club to make the NIE program possible in Chilton County Schools. We thank them for their help with this project.
