“Preserve, me, O God:  for in thee do I put my trust.  O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord. thou art my Lord:  my goodness entendeth not to thee; but to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another God:  their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.  The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup:  thou maintainest my lot.  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea I have a goodly heritage.  I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel:  my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.  I have set the Lord always before me:  because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:  my flesh also shall rest in hope” (Psalm 16:  1-9 verses)
Thought for the week:     “God is Love”

“God is love; his mercy brightens all the path in which we rove; bliss he wakes and woe he lightens; God is wisdom, God is love.  Chance and change are busy ever; man decays, and ages move; but his mercy waneth never; God is wisdom, God is love.  E’en the hour that darkest seemeth, will his changeless goodness prove; from the gloom his brightness streameth, God is wisdom, God is love.  He with earthly cares entwineth Hope and comfort from above; everywhere his glory shineth; god is wisdom, God is love.”

Worship service at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service led by the senior choir and men chorus.  The scripture was read by Willie Nunn with prayer by Pastor Dukes and Perry Nunn.  Songs sung:  “Oh I Want To See Him,”  “Oh How I Love Jesus,”  and “Open The Flood Gates Of Heaven.”

The morning message was given by Pastor Dukes.  His theme:  “The Power of A Woman Based on Her Work and Worship.”  Work and worship together bring us closer (Luke 10:  38-42 verses.)

Two women, two tasks, both Christans. Both was doing a good thing.  Work and worship based around Jesus.  You can’t go wrong listening to or working for him. (Jesus).  Martha served, Mary listen.  Martha the doer prepared her home for him.  She was gracious and hostile.  Martha was unselfish, enjoyed her work.  She kept the work right.  Don’t be frustrated with your guest like Martha did; but she continued to be a Christian.  The

Church program must go on no matter how much work you have to do.  Not doing what you are doing, Jesus told Martha don’t let certain things trouble you.  We all must work you must work and also set at his feet.  There must be some Marys to.  Mary was devoted to learn about Jesus

He is peace, joy do you know about him?  Important to give attention to his word, are you a Mary or a Martha?  We need both of them.  Are you growing in the Lord, do you set at His feet?  It’s a good place to be.  Mary heard his word, do you here it?  Every opportunity you have set at His feet.  All worshipers should work and all worshipers should listen.  Learn how to listen to Him.  Mary and Martha was both important, give God praise and glory for what he has done.  Fellowship by Pastor Dukes, deacons and congregation.

On our sick list this week we ask you to remember in your prayers:  Jerry Wilson, Lee Anna Worthey, Robert Spence, Joseph McCall, JuaJetta Kine, Sam and Vivian Hicks, Stanley Frazier, Flora B. Franklin and Rome Nix.  May God heal, strengthen, and keep them in his care is our prayer.
