Child Protect is holding its first benefit concert at the Helen Parrish Activity Center on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The mission of the Child Protect Children’s Advocacy Program is to support children who are victims of abuse through investigation and management of their cases in a non-threatening environment.

Musical performances will include: The Lo-Fi Loungers (Western Swing and Pop Standards), The Whistlestop Combo (Swing and Goodtime Jazz), Steve Roberson (Gospel) and The Samaritans (Gospel Quartet).

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or in advance from Peoples Southern Bank and Forrest Veterinary Clinic in Clanton.

“All proceeds will go to specifically support the Chilton County agency,” said Jana Conlee, Forensic Interviewer/Therapist.

The program’s goal is to provide support for non-offending caregivers so they can support, protect, and focus on the needs of the child victim.

“We’re hopeful that we will at least have 200 people,” said Conlee.
