Next Level Elevation Church will host its second “Worship in the City” event on Nov. 13 at Corner Park in downtown Clanton.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to. 2 p.m.

Pastor Isaiah Richardson said the event was first held in 2019, and he was excited to be hosting it again.

He said the focus this year will be praying for the city and its leaders as well as remembering those who have died from COVID-19.

“Family members can come out and do the balloon release,” Richardson said.

Groups from different churches will be involved in leading praise and worship. Communion will also be a part of the service.

The event will have a festival feel as bouncy houses for children, food trucks and vendors will be on site.

Five thanksgiving baskets of food will be given away.

“My wife and I, we are pastors here in the city, and we just want to give back to the community,” Richardson said.

The event is a part of their desire “to help the less fortunate.”

“We just want to make a change in the community,” Richardson said. “… We are just trying to put forth the effort to show there is someone in the city thinking about people and wants to see the better and the good of the people.”
