Mountain Springs Church

Sunday morning, Bro. Kenneth Moates led the congregation in the hymns “I Love My Savior Too,” “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder,” “I’ll Be Satisfied” and “Anywhere is Home.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler then brought a devotion from Psalm 34:1. Things could be a lot worse than they are. Bless the Lord in good times and in the bad times.

After Sunday School, Bro. Heath Vines preached from John 16:7-11. Jesus teaches about the Holy Spirit. If Jesus stayed, he couldn’t send the comforter, so he left the disciples. In Jesus’ eyes, it was more beneficial for him to leave the disciples and send the Comforter to them.

Sometimes the hardest times in our lives happen in order to bring about change because God always has a plan for you. Conviction will drive a person to choose to accept or reject Christ, to run to him or reject him. Without conviction on a person’s life, that person would never come to Christ and continue to live in sin.

Thank God for conviction. If you are under conviction, fall at the feet of Jesus and ask for forgiveness of your sins and allow him to guide you.

During Sunday evening’s service, the congregation sang the following hymns: “But I Know Who Holds Tomorrow,” “Where the Milk and Honey Flows” and “Keep on the Firing Line.”

Bro. Kenneth Moates brought a devotion from Isaiah 5:20-24. Judgment is coming. It’s on its way.

Bro. Heath Vines brought his message from Hebrews 11:13-16. Is God ashamed to be called your God? There is no way to please God without faith. Faith is looking forward and expecting something. Sometimes the world has such a hold on us that we aren’t seeking what‘s ahead. The devil will get you to thinking about where God has delivered you from and will try to convince you that life was better then. You must keep looking forward and remind the devil that you didn’t have salvation or freedom from sin then.

Is God pleased with what you see on your TV or computer? Is he pleased with what you do on Friday or Saturday night or at work, how you act or with your faith? Is he ashamed to be called your God?
