Thankful for county administrator

Dear editor,

I am writing to express appreciation for the efforts of county administrator Connie Powell in promoting and supporting the growth and development of the Chilton County Airport.

As county administrator, Powell has continually provided professional support in matters relating to the operation and administration of this valuable county resource.

I would also like to commend and congratulate Powell for her efforts in earning the Association of County Commissioners of Alabama designation as a Certified County Administrator.

Powell was recognized by the ACCA Board of Directors in August 2015 for completing the requirements to obtain this certification.

Powell invested a considerable amount of personal time and effort to earn this distinction.

This designation mandates a minimum of three years of experience as a county administrator as well as the completion of numerous county government and professional development courses.

Furthermore, Powell is required to complete a series of continuing education requirements to maintain this designation. A majority of the time Powell devoted to completing the certification requirements were evenings and weekends outside of normal office hours.

During her tenure as county administrator, Powell has served the citizens of Chilton County in an exemplary manner. Her attainment of the Certified County Administrator designation is further evidence of her professionalism and dedication to the office of the county administrator.

The citizens of Chilton County are extremely fortunate in having Connie Powell serving as our county administrator – a position that is extremely demanding, typically thankless yet critical to the growth and welfare of our county.

Please accept our appreciation and congratulations for a job well done.

Sincerely,

D. Craig Cleckler, Chairman Chilton County Airport Authority
