No injuries reported in three weekend wrecks on I-65

No injuries were reported from three wrecks along Interstate 65 on Saturday in Chilton County.
The first wreck occurred at 8:50 a.m. at the 217-mile marker. No injuries were reported from the crash, according to Alabama Department of Public Safety Public Information/Education Unit Trooper Kevin Cook.
The second single-vehicle crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. on I-65 near the 214-mile marker.
The driver and only occupant was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla and was treated by rescue personnel at the scene and released.
The third crash involved four vehicles at 1:15 p.m. on I-65 at the 219-mile marker.
Cook said there were no injuries reported from the crash, which included individuals from Ohio, Indiana, Alabama and Tennessee.
Chilton County E-911 cautioned motorists via Twitter Saturday morning to “please drive carefully. Don’t text and drive and slow down.”
During the Fourth of July 78-hour travel period, which started at 6 p.m. July 3 and ran through midnight July 6, Alabama State Troopers investigated 237 crashes resulting in 10 fatalities and 123 injuries. The fatalities occurred in St. Clair, Coffee, Lowndes, Mobile, Perry, Walker, Monroe and Tuscaloosa counties.
During the holiday period, Trooper enforcement activities included 1,837 citations for speeding, 466 citations for seatbelt/child restraint violations and 68 DUI arrests.
In addition, troopers assisted 242 motorists throughout Alabama.
