Joe Earl Baker, 66, of Clanton died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.

He was born Friday, Aug. 25, 1944, in Chilton County, son of the late Luchion Baker and the late Lizzie Hilyer Baker.

He was an auto technician with the Army National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Baker of Clanton; two daughters, Le Anne (Jeremy) Smith of Jemison and Ashley (Billy) Weathers of Clanton; brother, James (Betty) Baker of Clanton; sister, Joyce (Sammy) Ellison of Clanton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois (Bob) Miller of Clanton; special niece, Tina Amos of Clanton; two special nephews, Ricky Wyatt of Clanton and Cory Ellison of Clanton; special great niece, Leah Wyatt of Clanton; special great nephew, Justen Wyatt of Clanton; special friends, Rickie and Joyce Varner of Foley; special friend, Joyce Davis of Foley; and numerous friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Baker; sister, Frankie Baker; sister, Bobbie Varden; nephew, Michael Wyatt; niece, Tanya Ellison; and special grandmother, Aileen Kelly.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Donovan and the Rev. Thomas Earl Hilyer officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
