Jemison’s Lady Panthers shut out Calera 10-0 on Wednesday in the softball area tournament at Bibb County.

The victory came in five innings in the first day of the double-elimination tournament. After Wednesday’s win, Jemison has won three out of five match-ups against Calera for the season.

“We played pretty good defense,” said Jemison coach Leighsa Robinson. “We hit the ball well. We laid down bunts when we needed to and pushed our runners around.”

Jemison now faces Bibb County, who defeated Holt 15-0 in three innings Wednesday. This match-up will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bibb County.
