Chilton County 61 in the Jumbo community should open to local traffic later this week, according to County Engineer Tony Wearren.

A needed pipe has been delivered and installed. Tropical Storm Ida may delay some finishing touches until later this week.

After the rain clears, the road should open Wednesday or Thursday.

Parts of the county road washed away during heavy rains Sept. 21. A bridge was eaten away from the bottom after pipes’ supporting bands came loose.
