One woman was injured after an SUV wrecked on Chilton County Road 128 early Friday morning, rolling over multiple times before coming to rest.
The SUV, of unknown make and model, was apparently traveling northeast and lost control shortly before 4 a.m. Friday.
North Chilton Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, and Dry Valley Fire Department out of Shelby County set up a landing zone near the intersection of Shelby County 18 and Alabama 155, North Chilton Fire Chief Jason Scott said.
The female driver — thought to be from the area — was airlifted via LifeSaver to UAB hospital, and a second victim, a young girl, was released.
North Chilton Rescue Chief Jason Snipes said the girl was restrained in a car seat, which likely helped her escape with no injuries. Snipes stressed the importance of children wearing proper restraints in vehicles.
Apparently, only the SUV was involved in the crash. There were no other known patients.
Information on the condition of the hospitalized victim was not available as of press time.
