The Linden Patriots (5-0) handed the Billingsley Bears (2-3) their third region loss and a 39-0 shutout Friday night.

The Bears’ leading tacklers were Andrew Rawlinson, with 9 tackles; and Carlos Caver, with 7.

The Bears completed 6 of 13 passes for a total of 84 passing yards.

Justin Tensley scored first for Linden with a 3-yard reception in the first quarter. Then Rashad Hollins followed with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Kendarius Fritts was the star of the second quarter, reaching the end zone on 10- and 25-yard runs. After the former, Linden was able to recover some missed extra points with a conversion.

At halftime, the score was 27-0.

The Patriots didn’t see as much action in the third quarter, but Gerald Bruno added some icing on the cake with an 11-yard touchdown reception. The 2-point conversion attempt was no good.

Fritts returned to the spotlight in the fourth quarter with another touchdown.

Billingsley’s Wesley Melton blocked a Patriot punt, but Billingsley was unable to capitalize on the play.
