Beth Hamlin is an eighth grader with a photographer’s eye.
She and her friend, Anna, are both handy with the camera and like to take pictures of their friends and family. Beth said she prefers to photograph people over other subjects because she likes the idea of capturing special moments in time.
She has a Kodak digital camera.
“When I got my camera, I just started taking pictures. It’s just something I’ve always liked to do,” she said.
Beth hopes to take photography classes in college, though she is undecided about which college to attend. She said she wouldn’t mind being a photographer of weddings and other social events.
The Junior Beta Club member also cheers for Thorsby’s junior varsity squad, and she gets excited about junior high football games.
“I like to support the team,” she said.
In her spare time, Beth listens to rock and rap music. Two of her favorite artists are Paramore and Flyleaf.
“No matter what happens that day, I know I can just listen to it and it’ll get everything off my mind,” she said.
Beth is the daughter of Ruth Holsomback and Shane Hamlin.
She has three sisters, Matti, Jessica and Makayla; and a brother, Zeke.
