Spring prayer walk set for this Sunday
Published 6:54 pm Thursday, April 2, 2009
Twice a year, a dedicated group of people gather to walk around each of Chilton County’s public schools and pray.
This practice, known as prayer walking, is directed at the students, teachers, administrators, faculty, parents and anyone else involved with education.
The walk will take place Sunday, April 5 at school campuses. People are encouraged to go to the campus of their choice to participate.
“We need to get out of our comfort zone and go to the schools this weekend and pray,” Walk coordinator Bobbie Traywick said. “We need to pray for the safety of students in and out of the classroom. We can pray for the superintendent and board of education that they will make the right decisions for the best interest of the students’ education and safety.”
Traywick continued, “We need to pray for the homes of the students, for the parents to have patience for the students and teachers at the school.”
The event is sponsored by the Chilton Baptist Association but is open to all denominations, churches and individuals. The times, dates and contact information for each walk are as follows:
