Kristen Millard likes little kids, and they seem to like her. She baby-sits her neighbor’s daughter all the time.

“My momma said I’m a little kid magnet,” she said.

Kristen’s career goals include possibly becoming a therapist or counselor who works with children, but meanwhile she has plenty of things to occupy her time.

One of her favorite classes she took last semester was family and consumer sciences, mainly because she likes to cook so much.

“I like to make cakes,” Kristen said. “My mom likes when I make strawberry. I like it too.”

When asked how long she had been cooking, she said, “As long as my mom would trust me.”

Kristen also likes cheering, tumbling and playing tennis. She practices tumbling every day amidst trying to learn how to play guitar.

At Jemison Middle, Kristen is a member of Beta Club and the yearbook staff. She is also secretary of FCCLA and vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Students. Kristen is involved with the youth group at Pate’s Chapel Baptist Church.

While she is undecided about which college she will attend, one of her life goals is certain: “I like helping people,” she said.

Kristen is the daughter of Chris and Sandra Millard and has a younger brother, Derek.
