Several local offices will be closing due to the New Year’s holiday this week. The following is a list of some of these closings, as well as garbage schedules for cities and towns:

All city and town halls in Chilton County will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1 and will resume normal operating hours Friday.

The City of Clanton will pick up garbage every day. Garbage will run early on Thursday, however. Residents are asked to place their cans by the roadside no later than 6 a.m. Thursday.

Thorsby’s residential garbage collection will remain unchanged. The town will collect garbage from businesses on Friday instead of Thursday.

The City of Jemison’s garbage for Thursday will be picked up on Friday.

Maplesville’s garbage schedule will remain unchanged.

Offices in the Chilton County Courthouse will be closed both Thursday and Friday.

People’s Southern Bank will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday and will resume normal operating hours Friday. Peachtree Bank will close as usual at noon Wednesday and will resume normal operating hours Friday.
