The Central Alabama Gospel Music Barn will host a benefit singing next Saturday night, Nov. 22, for local foster children.

The singing will begin at 5 p.m. with special guests The Samaritans, Dena Bond, Adreane Barrington, Maddy Barrington, Alex Headley and Mike Dyer. Also, cakes, pies and desserts will be raffled off with proceeds going toward the foster children of Chilton County.

Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

“[Foster] parents get a small check to help these kids, but there’s so much they don’t get,” event coordinator and emcee Lloyd Nutter said.

“We hope they can get something special for the children, like a like a pair of shoes or a Christmas gift.”

The Central Alabama Gospel Music Barn is located on County Road 29 near Jemison. Going north from Clanton on U.S. Highway 31, turn right onto County Road 29 just before reaching Thorsby. Going north, pass Collins Chapel Baptist Church on the right and you will see the barn shortly on the left. It is a large blue building marked by a sign out front.
