In its first meeting since the resignation of Tom Bentley as mayor, the Thorsby Town Council had little business Monday night.

They paid the bills and approved for the carpet to be cleaned at Town Hall.

Bentley resigned last week, so mayor pro tem Jack Allen acted in his place.

Meanwhile, the Jemison City Council cancelled their meeting Monday night. The council has more work sessions than usual this month and will reconvene in November.
