Zachary Stacy and the Bibb County Choctaws outlasted the Jemison Panthers 35-22 Friday night.

The star running back put the Choctaws on board in the first quarter with a 30-yard touchdown run, and struck again in the second from 4 yards out. Jemison’s Merell Morrow answered late in the second quarter with a 27-yard touchdown run.

Early in the third, Bibb County’s Cameron Cutts broke through the Panther defense to score a 32-yard touchdown. Stacy then recaptured a lost extra point with a 2-point conversion.

Stacy wasn’t finished yet. He capped his own 55-yard gallop to the end zone with another conversion.

On Jemison’s next drive, Eric Argo threw Christian Briscoe a 25-yard pass for some paydirt, making the score 29-14 after the third.

Less than a minute into the fourth quarter, Morrow topped Stacy’s previous effort with a 68-yard touchdown run and a successful conversion, putting the Panthers within a touchdown of tying the game.

The Choctaws had the last word, however, as Stacy scored on a short run.
