Donations are still trickling in, but Chilton County Arthritis Walk chairperson Dian Easterling confirmed that the event raised at least $20,000 this year.

Fundraising was slightly down this year, perhaps due to the scare with the economy, but it’s not over yet, Easterling said. All contributions accepted during the month of October will count toward the 2008 Walk.

“The Arthritis Foundation will accept money anytime, but for it to count for the 2008 Chilton Walk, we need it by the 31st,” she said.

Meanwhile, the committee responsible for organizing the walk is trying to come up with more fundraising ideas for the future.

Checks should be made out to “Arthritis Foundation – Alabama Chapter” and mailed to Dian Easterling, P.O. Box 587, Clanton, AL 35046.
