Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level. If you know of an athlete who should be included in future installments of this list, email sports@clantonadvertiser.com.

BASEBALL

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) is a senior pitcher for NAIA No. 8 Auburn University at Montgomery, which improved to 36-12 overall after securing a 5-0 sweep of Point University (22-23) on April 19 in West Point, Ga. In his most recent effort, he allowed one hit and did not allow an earned run in a two-inning effort at starting pitcher in a 2-1 victory at NAIA No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College (44-4) on April 13 in Lawrenceville, Ga. For the year, the senior has totaled a 2-2 overall record complemented with 28.2 innings, 21 strikeouts and a 4.40 ERA through 10 appearances and six starts.

J.D. Minor (Chilton County 2014) scored one run at third base for the University of Montevallo (24-22) in a 9-1 victory at home against Young Harris College (12-32) on April 16 in Montevallo. For the season, the sophomore has compiled 15 runs scored, nine RBIs, eight stolen bases, five doubles, one home run, one triple and a .193 batting average.

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) is a relief pitcher for Marion Military Institute. For the year, the sophomore has one save, three strikeouts and a 7.71 ERA through seven appearances and one start.

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) hurled four strikeouts and allowed one earned run in a seven-inning performance at starting pitcher for Marion Military Institute (29-12-1) in an 8-1 triumph at Wallace State Community College (26-17) on April 21 in Hanceville. For the season, the sophomore has tallied a 1-3 overall record complemented with 36.2 innings, 12 strikeouts and a 4.42 ERA through nine appearances and eight starts.

MEN’S GOLF

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) clinched All-Gulf South Conference Tournament Team honors after clinching the No. 2 performance for the University of North Alabama men’s golf program at the GSC Tournament Championships by tying for third overall with a three-round score of 215 (76-68-71) en route to leading the Lions to place third among the field of 11 teams from April 17-19 in Muscle Shoals.

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2014) is a sophomore for Samford University, which resumes competition at the Southern Conference Tournament from April 24-26 in Pinehurst, N.C. In the sophomore’s most recent performance, he secured the No. 2 effort for the Bulldogs at the Vanderbilt University Mason Rudolph Championships by tying for 42nd overall with a three-round total of 224 (70-79-75) as Southern cruised to place 14th among the field of 14 teams from April 2-3 in Franklin, Tenn.

SOFTBALL

Kristina Caton (Chilton County 2015) scored one run at catcher for Shelton State Community College (37-10) in a 6-3 triumph at home against Calhoun Community College (20-31) on April 15 in Decatur. On April 19, the freshman followed by batting 1-for-2 in a 1-0 loss at Wallace State Community College (44-20) in Game 1 of a doubleheader in Hanceville. In Game 2 of the series, she finished 1-for-2 in a 1-0 sweep. For the season, she has compiled 15 runs scored, 11 RBIs, one home run, one double and a .313 batting average.

Brooke Lewis (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-3 with one RBI at outfield for Southern Union State Community College (21-33) in a 4-3 loss Snead State Community College (28-31) on April 14 in Boaz. On April 19, the sophomore ended 1-for-3 in a 4-3 loss at Gadsden State Community College (24-29) in Gadsden. For the year, she has totaled 10 runs scored, six RBIs, two stolen bases, one double and a .250 batting average.

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) batted 1-for-4 and scored one run at catcher for the University of Montevallo (19-38) in a 7-5 loss at the University of North Carolina Pembroke (28-23-1) on April 17 in Pembroke, N.C. On April 19, the senior followed by finishing 1-for-2 in an 8-0 loss at the University of North Georgia (47-6) in game one of a doubleheader in Dahlonega, Ga. In game two of the series, she ended 1-for-2 in a 6-0 loss. For the season, the senior has totaled 28 runs scored, 23 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, five doubles, four home runs, two triples and a .313 batting average.

Holly Watts (Chilton County 2014) batted 2-for-4 and scored one run at third base for Southern Union State University (21-33) in a 4-3 loss at home to Calhoun Community College (20-31) on April 16 in Wadley. For the year, the sophomore has tallied 19 RBIs, six runs scored, five doubles, two home runs, one triple and a .253 batting average.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) captured the No.1 performance in the javelin among the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) after clinching victory in the event at the University of South Alabama Invitational with a launch of 137 feet, 8.25 inches for the Alabama State University women’s outdoor track and field program from April 14-16 in Mobile. Among the field of 14 teams, the Yellow Jackets ended 11th.

Sarah Graham (Chilton County 2015) is a freshman at distance for the University of West Alabama, which competed at the Southeastern Louisiana University Lions Invitational from April 15-16 in Hammond, La. In her most recent effort, she clinched ninth in the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 34.45 seconds) and 10th in the 1,500-meter run (5:20.39) at the University of Montevallo Heart of Dixie Brawl on April 8 in Montevallo. The meet was not scored.
