Isabella’s volleyball team dropped their first game of the season, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-16), to Class 5A Helena on Thursday.

Isabella is ranked No. 5 in Class 1A.

The Mustangs totaled 17 kills on the night, with Synia Chattman leading the way with five.

Isabella had 10 blocks, split evenly between Chattman and Kinley Tuttle.

Of the Mustangs’ 24 digs, Caley Booth led with eight, and Sophia Underwood and Hailey Underwood had five each.

Isabella’s junior varsity team lost, 25-8, 25-17.

Isabella hosts its annual tournament starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Participating will be Sweet Water, Hale County, LAMP and Marbury.
