Girls in Thorsby Girl Scout Troop No. 337 love animals and decided to host a Wiggle, Waggle Walk event Saturday.

The event invites anyone from the community along with their dogs to come out to Richard Wood Park from 10 a.m. until noon to help raise money for the Chilton County Humane Society.

“There will be a dog show, homemade dog collars for sale, face painting and a photo booth,” said Amy Jolley, who is one of the event organizers.

Jolley said if individuals do not have a dog to bring, they are still invited to come and enjoy watching the dog show and participating in other events.

There will be judges for the dog show to give out first, second and third place prizes for the dogs who enter, and prizes for the “cutest” and “ugliest” dogs.

There will be a $5 entrance fee for each pet who enters the dog show, and everyone who attends the event is asked to bring his or her pet on a leash.

There is also a $1 entrance fee for anyone planning to attend.

Volunteers with the Chilton County Humane Society will also be at the event with animals from the shelter for people to view.

Little Angel’s Pet Salon, Kamp Krazy Bones and Sharon Russell with Young Living Essential Oils will also be at the event, Jolley said.

“The girls in the troop wanted to do some type of animal event because they all love animals,” Jolley said. “There are 11 girls in the troop, and six of those girls are juniors. The juniors are sponsoring the event so they can earn their Bronze Award for scouts.”

The event is open to all ages, and all the proceeds from the event will go toward the purchase of supplies for the Chilton County Humane Society.
