Tickets are available for the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $25 per person and will include dinner, awards and entertainment by De’Ja Blue, a six-member dance and show band from Birmingham.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Assistant Brittani Ellison said the cutoff date for tickets to be purchased is Jan. 21 in order to get a headcount for the caterer to know how much food to prepare.

A new addition to the banquet this year is a “social time” at 6 p.m. to allow those in attendance the opportunity to mingle before dinner.

“Last year, people were wanting to talk and we didn’t allot for that time,” Ellison said. “We thought it would be good to have time for everyone to go around and talk with one another before dinner is served.”

The Chamber will also announce the recipients of its Ambassador of the Year, Business of the Year and Community Spirit awards.

Ellison said the purpose of the event is to do something in appreciation of the members of the Chamber.

“It is a night we can focus on them,” Ellison said. “It is a night to recognize the Chamber supporters and members and it is also a great time to network and build relationships. There is a great group of business leaders and to have them all together at an event is great.”

Currently, the Chamber has 323 members with 33 members added in 2014.

The Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center is located on the Jefferson State Community College Chilton-Clanton Campus off Lay Dam Road near Interstate 65 Exit 212.

Tickets for the banquet are available at the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, 500 Fifth Ave. N., in Clanton.
