A Verbena woman was apparently killed in a hit-and-run incident Thursday.

Clanton Police Chief Brian Stilwell said Angie Quinn, 39, was found dead in the roadway when officers responded to Holiday Inn Drive about 11 p.m. Thursday.

“She obviously had been run over by a vehicle,” Stilwell said.

The incident is being treated as a hit-and-run.

Stilwell said traffic homicide and criminal investigators are working the case but have no leads yet about the vehicle that struck the victim.

Stilwell said officials think the victim was struck between 9-10 p.m. She was last seen around 9 p.m., leaving a residence in the area on foot.
