Cedar Grove Church

Give honor and glory to God in all things.

Announcements: We are proud to announce the two baby dedications we had today at church for Brenly, the daughter of Cody and Rachel Hubbard and McKenly, the daughter of Mathew and Sara Hubbard. It was a blessed event to have two cousins born only two days apart at birth to be dedicated to the service of God on the same day. Camden Hubbard sang Amelia Hubbard the song “Jesus Is Alive and Well” and dedicated it to his sister Brenly Hubbard on her special day. What an awesome blessing all around.

Pastor Bro. Jeff Carroll’s text comes from 1 Corinthians 10:1 -11. “As Some of Them” was the title. Paul writes telling us that all of our fathers were under the cloud that passed through the sea. All were baptized into Moses in the cloud in the sea. We all know what God expects us to do and we all have the same blessing. All ate the same spiritual food and drank from the same spiritual drink. They drank of that spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.

We see in this scripture and throughout the Bible, as today, all do not react the same way to God’s blessings. Those that did not and do not please God will die in the wilderness. Now these things became our example to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. All have the opportunity to do what God says instead of what people say. Do not become idolaters as were some of them. It is written the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play (worshiping a golden calf). We have a lot of idolaters in our lives; some let our families, pleasure, sports, etc. become more important to us than God. When we end up putting these before God, that my friend is idolatry in a nutshell.

God has not changed. We are living under grace. The wrong attitude toward sin God does not bless. What does God hear in America today? You cannot live for God and the world too. Let us not make the mistake of tempting Christ. Jesus on the cross is taking a good, long hard look at what sin can do to the body. We have the venom of sin running through our bodies. If we do not look to the cross, we cannot have redemption.

Admonish means to warn someone of something to be avoided, the need to get back on the right track serving God. The world is in the process of ending as we speak. The world’s ending will come like a woman in labor bearing a child. The good news is there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Let us not become “Some of Them” that goes back into the world and ultimately hell instead of going to heaven to be with Christ!

Hosanna unto God! We welcome you to come join us at Cedar Grove in worshiping the one and only true God, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Have a blessed week.

Mountain Springs Church

Services started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “I Love My Savior Too,” “Eastern Gate,” When the Saints Go Marching In” and “When the Redeemed Are Gathered In.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from 2 Kings 4:1 and Exodus 4:1. Instead of telling God what you don’t have, give him all that you do have.

Bro Heath Vines preached from Ezekiel 33:1-11. We as Christians need to be sounding the alarm to others so they know Jesus is coming back soon. We need to watchmen for Christ and warn others of the devil so that people can be saved.

Sunday night’s service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns “Just a Little Talk with Jesus,” This World Is Not My Home” and “Jesus Is Coming Soon.”

Bro. Kenneth gave a devotion from 1 Timothy 1:2 and 2 Timothy 1:2. God sees potential in each and every one of us. We need to motivate each other to show the potential God has given us.

Kandace Cleckler, Kadie Coker and Savanna Parrish sang “As Long As I’ve Got King Jesus” and “The Promise.” They blessed the church with two wonderful songs.

Bro Heath preached from 2 Timothy 2:15-19. If have sin and iniquity in our lives, we are being bad examples to those who are lost. We as Christians represent Christ and our church. How are you representing Christ in your life?

We will have a singing on Thursday, June 26 at 7 p.m. Special guests will be the Perry’s and Cannanland. It was be a wonderful time in the Lord and we hope you and your family can attend.
