Baseball

Alex Campbell (Jemison 2013) tallies seven appearances and four starts as a pitcher Wallace Community College-Selma (10-12, 2-4 Alabama Community College Conference) to contribute an 0-4 record, 33 innings pitched, 14 strikeouts and a 3.27 ERA.

In his most recent start, the freshman hurler contributed two strikeouts and allowed four earned runs in a five-inning effort in an 8-2 loss at Southern Union State Community College (12-11, 3-3 Alabama Community College Conference) on March 8 in Wadley.

He adds versatility as a batter, producing five RBI, one double and a .259 batting average.

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) contributed two strikeouts and allowed two earned runs in a 2 1/3-inning relief performance in his seventh pitching appearance for the season for Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (12-10, 2-4 Alabama Community College Athletic Conference) in a 10-5 loss at Jefferson Davis Community College (6-10, 4-4 Alabama Community College Athletic Conference) on March 8 in Brewton.

For the season, the sophomore right-hander has four starts to contribute a 1-1 record, 24 2/3 innings, 18 strikeouts and a 1.46 ERA.

Cameron Cummings (Chilton County 2013) walked twice for the University of South Alabama (8-7) in a 5-4 loss at Jackson State University (9-6) on March 4 in Jackson, Miss.

For the season, the freshman outfielder totals 11 appearances and eight starts to bat 7-for-30 (.233 batting average) with four RBI, two runs and one stolen base.

Craig Headley (Chilton County 2013) continues to catalyze Jefferson Davis Community College (6-10, 4-4 Alabama Community College Conference).

For the season, the freshman catcher totals 13 appearances to bat 13-for-36 (.361 batting average) with five runs scored, three RBI, three doubles and one stolen base.

On March 4, the freshman catcher scored one run and batted 2-for-3 in an 8-0 thrashing of Enterprise State Community College (13-7, 5-3 Alabama Community College Conference).

Bo Hoffman (Thorsby 2013) did not allow a hit or an earned run in a three-inning relief pitching performance to improve his record to 1-1 en route to leading Marion Military Institute (5-15, 1-2 Alabama Community College Athletic Conference) in a 9-6 triumph at home against Meridian Community College (9-11) on March 4 in Marion.

For the season, the freshman hurler totals four appearances and three starts to compile seven innings, three strikeouts and an 11.57 ERA.

Stephen Mims (Thorsby 2013) totals one appearance, one strikeout, two innings pitched and a 4.50 ERA as a pitcher for Wallace Community College-Selma (10-12, 2-4 Alabama Community College Athletic Conference).

Men’s rodeo

Andy Phillips (Maplesville 2011) was runner-up in the saddle bronc riding at the Cossatt Rodeo with 110 points for University of West Alabama Feb. 20-22 in Texarkana, Ark.

Nelson Wyatt (Chilton County 2011) placed fifth in steer wrestling at the Cossatt Rodeo with 40 points for Troy University.

Softball

Brianna Cleckler (Chilton County 2012) totals 13 appearances and 11 starts to contribute an 8-2 record, 60 2/3 innings pitched, 43 strikeouts, six complete games and a 1.96 ERA for Southern Union State Community College (19-6).
