Rebels pick up wins over Billingsley, Central-Coosa

Thorsby’s volleyball team picked up wins this week over Billingsley and Central-Coosa.

On Monday, Thorsby defeated Billingsley, 3-2 (12-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-11).

Keela Lucas led the Rebels’ attack with nine aces and 12 assists.

Katelyn Beam had six aces, Sabrina Ellison had three aces and five kills, and Kerri Robinson had seven kills.

Thorsby’s junior varsity team also bested the Bears, 2-1 (19-25, 25-18, 15-10).

Celsa Bautista had seven aces in the match, while Lauren Reeser contributed four aces and Kaitlyn Lowery five aces.

On Tuesday, the varsity Rebels defeated Central-Coosa, 3-2 (18-25, 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 16-14).

Lucas posted 10 assists, while Ellison had five kills, eight aces and two blocks. Robinson added three kills, six aces and three blocks.

The THS JV defeated Coosa, 2-1 (25-7, 25-11).

Reeser led the way with eight aces, while Anna Hilyer had six aces and both Brooke Adams and Bautista had three aces each.
