Authorities look for help with robbery

Published 3:40pm Friday, March 29, 2013

Authorities are looking for help from the community in conjunction with a robbery at the Inn of Clanton on Thursday.

At 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, a black male subject wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants entered the Inn of Clanton armed with a large revolver and demanded money. The subject’s face was covered with a white cloth, and he was wearing a ball cap at the time of the incident. The subject fled the scene with a small amount of cash and no one was injured. During the investigation, authorities were able to determine a small white car had been circling the business about 20 minutes prior to the robbery.

The Clanton Police Department believes the vehicle might be a suspect in the case and hopes that someone in the community may have seen something or have information on this case.

CPD is asking anyone who might have information to contact the CPD Detective Division at 755-1194.
