Published 5:16pm Thursday, February 14, 2013

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby will visit Chilton County on Feb. 18 for a “meet and greet” coffee session at 2 p.m. at Clanton City Hall.

Shelby plans to address the legislative agenda for the first session of the 113th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama, according to a release.

Shelby will open the floor for questions and comments from those in attendance following his remarks.

“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” Shelby said in a release. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and nation.”

Monday’s visit in Chilton County will mark 25 visits throughout Alabama and over the next couple of months he will visit all 67 counties as he has done since he was elected to the Senate in 1986.

The meeting is open to the public. More information on Shelby’s county visits can be found at www.shelby.senate.gov.
