Helen Ruth Porter, 73, of Jemison died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was born on  Saturday, March 18, 1939, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Ollie Easterling and the late Cynthia Easterling.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Peggy Roper of Jemison; granddaughters, Michelle (Brian) Jackson of Jemison, Meghan Jackson of Jemison; grandson, A.J. Jackson of Jemison; sisters, Mary Lucille Hughey of Ft. Worth, Texas, Dorothy (Myrian) Powell of Clanton; brother, Bobby (Clara) Easterling of Ft. Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Porter Jr.; brother, Thurmon Easterling; brother, Clark Easterling; and brother, John Mark Easterling.

Friends were received from 6–8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Atchison and the Rev. Mark Lovett officiating.

Interment followed in Archers Chapel Methodist in Clanton.
