Clear Waters Cowboy Church will host Clear Waters Country Christmas Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) with a free concert from former “Hee Haw” TV star Gerald Smith.

Smith, formerly from Georgia, now lives in Nashville and is a country gospel singer/songwriter.

Clear Waters pastor Keith Green said the main goal of the event is to bring the community together as well as showcase the ministry of the cowboy church.

“It will be a great time for people to come out and see what our church is all about,” Green said.

Green said the church strives to minister to those involved in the western culture with the church being a member of the American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches located in Texas.

“We are a non-traditional church,” Green said. “Our outreach events centered around horse shows, rodeo shows and equine events.”

Green said he was able to schedule Smith to come and perform due to having connections with friends in the country-gospel music industry.

A free gift will be handed out to every little boy and girl who attends the event and parents are encouraged to bring their cameras for pictures with Santa.

Green said Smith works well with children and is known for his duck quacking abilities where he uses his voice to imitate a duck.

“We will have some refreshments available,” Green said. “This will just be a wonderful time for people to come together.”

Green said everyone is encouraged to call and reserve a seat as the building only seats 180 people.

The church is located at the Old Gray and Sons Stockyard, 803 Logan Road in Clanton.

To reserve a seat, call (205) 245-4138.
