Tenth expo promises fun for all

Published 4:02pm Thursday, August 2, 2012

The Farm, Home and Wildlife Expo will mark its 10th year Saturday of providing the community with fun ways to learn about farming, food, animals and more.

The expo will be held at the Chilton Research and Extension Center (CREC) on Aug. 4 from noon to 5 p.m.

Admission is free, and all ages are invited to take part in activities including fruit tasting, cooking demonstrations, tours, sand art and a raptor program.

Also attending will be Auburn University students involved in designing portable water purifying systems to combat water-borne diseases in impoverished countries.

“It was really interesting to me,” said Jim Pitts, director of the CREC. “I just thought it would be interesting for them to bring that up here.”

The Chilton Research and Extension Center is located at 120 County Road 756 in Clanton.
