Thanks to those who helped after tornado

Dear Editor,

I would like to take this time to thank everyone who responded to assist us during the tornado event on March 2.

It was a chaotic time for our community as well as for our volunteer fire and rescue department. Everyone worked together with a common goal of search and rescue, and thankfully we had no injuries.

I recently had a meeting with a few of the department heads who were on-scene and discussed any issues that arose so that we may be better prepared for the next disaster.

I would like to specifically thank the Clanton, Enterprise, East Chilton, Marbury, Pine Level and Lightwood fire departments along with the Clanton Police Department, Chilton County Sheriff’s Office, CARE Ambulance, Autauga County Rescue Squad, Alabama State Troopers, Chilton County Road Department, Chilton County E-911 and the countless number of individuals who responded to assist.

If I left out anyone, just know that your assistance was greatly appreciated.

Avery Dale, Verbena Fire Chief
