President issues disaster declaration for tornadoes

President Obama has issued a disaster declaration for areas affected by tornadoes on Jan. 23, including Chilton County.

The declaration means that additional assistance will be available through federal programs, such as FEMA.

More than 100 homes in Chilton County were damaged by storms that day.

The declaration also includes Jefferson and Perry counties.
