Car crashes into Wendy’s restaurant
From Staff Reports
A collision between a semi-truck and a car caused the car to run into the front of the Wendy’s on Highway 31 in Clanton.
At about 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, a small car was reportedly attempting to turn into the driveway of Wendy’s when a semi-truck could not stop quickly enough, allegedly rear-ending the car and causing it to enter the front windows of Wendy’s.
Responders were removing the car from Wendy’s at about 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, and at that time officials from the Clanton Police Department reported that the driver of the car and one person from inside the restaurant were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Update: The Wendy’s is open as of lunch on Wednesday, Nov. 1. A temporary wall has been put up so diners can still use the restaurant.
