Stokes Automotive is lending a helping hand to the Chilton County Humane Society’s financial situation.

As soon as Stokes Automotive heard that the Humane Society was in debt and in need of assistance, an initiative was created to help raise funding in the form of a used car giveaway.

According to sales manager Doug Tomaselli, it is a way that Stokes can give back to the community during the Christmas season.

“We read an article in the newspaper about what they’re going through,” Tomaselli said. “We called a meeting right away to discuss what we could put together to help.”

Residents can enter their name in the used car giveaway by donating $10 along with one item of supplies that the Humane Society can use, such as a bag of dog food or a bag of cat litter.

Trips will be made back and forth to drop-off the supplies to the Humane Society for immediate use.

“It’s always nice to give back to the community that we have been apart of for so many years,” Tomaselli said. “We would not be in business without them.”

The promotion will last until Dec. 20, when the drawing for the car will be made and a winner will be selected.

Anybody who buys a car from now until then will automatically have their name entered for a chance to win.
