Thorsby homecoming culminates Friday

Thorsby's homecoming queen and grade representatives will be crowned at halftime of Friday's football game.

Thorsby’s homecoming festivities will culminate with the Rebels’ football game against Central-Hayneville, with the crowning of the queen and her court scheduled for halftime on Friday.

Thorsby students this week dressed up to mark homecoming: Monday’s theme was Career Day, Tuesday was Nerd Day, Wednesday was College Day, Thursday was Pretty in Pink Day and Friday was Spirit Day.

Homecoming festivities also included a dance off, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, karaoke, powder puff football game and judging of door decorations.

A Senior Walk will be held Friday morning and be followed by a parade near the school beginning at 1:45 p.m. Then, a pep rally will be held in the high school gymnasium.

The football game will kick off at 7 p.m.

The Thorsby Homecoming Court includes:

•Seventh grade: Lilly Barnett, Macey Barnett and Haylee Henry.

•Eighth grade: Madison Gunn, Taylor McManus and Allie Yeargan.

•Ninth grade: Darian Green, Anna Harris and Kaley Perdue.

•10th grade: Natalie Knox, Bethany Lenior and Jennifer Spivey.

•11th grade: Haley Barnett, Kelsie Barrett and Kelly Nord.

•12th grade: Taylor Beth Gibson, Whitley Hines, Hope Tate and Brianna Veazey.
