Jefferson State Community College offers non-credit summer courses

Jefferson State Community College–Clanton campus is offering summer, non-credit classes beginning in June.

“These programs are specifically designed to teach skills that quickly prepare people for employment,” said Kay Potter, director of community and corporate education.

Certified Nursing Assistant Preparation class is delivered at the LeCroy Career Technical School and is taught by Debra Sosa, one of the school’s teachers.

This summer is the only time the class will be offered during the day.

The Certified Nursing Assistant Preparation course will be held Wednesdays and Thursdays only from June 1 to July 6 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The class is $799 plus tech book.

Two courses will also be held at the Clanton campus on Alabama 145 including:

A Dental Assistant course that will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 21 to Sept 1. The cost of the course is $1029.

Also, a Medical Billing and Coding course that will be held on Mondays only from June 22 to Feb 8 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
