School registrations drawing near

With classes scheduled to begin Aug. 15 for Chilton County students, the time to register for the 2011-2012 school year is only about three weeks away.

•Maplesville School’s new student registration is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Aug. 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Immunizations records; Social Security cards, birth certificates and a previous report card are needed. The annual orientation will be held Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m.

•Thorsby School’s new student enrollment will be Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 2-3 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Legal parent/guardian must register student. Open house for K-12 on Friday, Aug. 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

•Chilton County High School’s orientation is Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 1 for ninth and 10th grades and Aug. 2 for 11th and 12th grades from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the lunchroom.

•Clanton Middle School will hold an open house on Friday, Aug. 12 from noon to 2:30 p.m.

•Clanton Intermediate School will have a three-day registration process. Fifth grade will pre-register on Wednesday, Aug. 10; fourth grade will be on Thursday, Aug. 11 and third grade Friday, Aug. 12. Each registration will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m.

•Clanton Elementary School students can enroll any day between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Orientation is Thursday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. for kindergarten, 6 p.m. for first grade and 7 p.m. for second grade.

•Jemison High School’s pre-registration is Monday, Aug. 1 from  5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for 12th grade; Monday, Aug. 1  6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for 11th grade; Tuesday, Aug. 2  5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for 10th grade; Tuesday, Aug. 2  6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for ninth grade and Thursday, Aug. 4  5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for eighth grade.

•Jemison Middle School’s new students enroll Thursday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Returning students register Friday, Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•Jemison Elementary kindergarten classes register Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. and first grade registers at 7 p.m. On Thursday, Aug. 11, second grade registers at 6 p.m.; third grade at 6:30 p.m. and fourth grade at 7 p.m. Students may bring their schools supplies if they have them at that time.

•Verbena School will have an open house Friday, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. for grades K-2 at Verbena Annex. Students can enroll any day before school begins.

•Isabella School students can register anytime after Aug. 1. Parent orientation will be Thursday, Aug. 11 for K-6 at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. for 7-12.
