Valentine’s events planned at Senior Connection

Senior Connection is going all out for Valentine’s Day this year, including looking for ways to involve the community as a whole.

The organization is partnering with the Rotary Club of Chilton County to hold a “Cutest Valentine” photogenic promotion and is inviting residents to register their child or pet to take part.

Parents can send in a photo of children 3 months to 10 years old to be eligible for the contest, while a photo of any animal that is considered a pet can be submitted for the animal portion.

Entry forms can be picked up at Senior Connection located at 304 Park Plaza in Clanton.

Once they are filled out, they must be returned to Senior Connection. The deadline for submission of form and photograph is Feb. 8.

A $25 fee is required per entrant to take part in the promotional event. Checks must be made payable to Chilton Rotary Club.

According to a Senior Connection press release, the cost to take part in the event will be considered tax deductible.

The Valentine’s fun does not stop there, as Senior Connection has also scheduled a Valentine-themed luncheon featuring a chocolate bar and live entertainment by Sonny Grier.

Grier was a member of the musical group, “The Rockin’ Gibralters” out of Montgomery in the 1960s.

It will not be the first time Grier has performed at Senior Connection, having made an appearance last year.
